Most commonly marketed pumice-based products, are made up of ground lava rock which sands or deteriorates the finish. Our compound uses synthetic plastic pellets which are softer than the gelcoat polishing it. ProMAXX Marine’s Phz_1 removes oxidation while protecting the gelcoat, rather than sanding it down and removing it.

Most buffing compounds contain Pumice, which is essentially volcanic rock ground up like sand, similar to the materials found on sandpaper. Utilizing these products takes the finish off your boat, creating an aged look that worsens over time.

How to use Phz_1 Gloss Compound to Restore and Improve Your Boat’s Finish

• Before beginning application, make sure that the painted surfaces are clean, cool, and dry.

• Shake product well before using.

• Apply a moderate amount of the synthetic Gloss Compound to foam buffing pad.

• Buff evenly over a 2’ x 2’ area, slowly using an air or electric polisher (1500 to 3000 rpm) applying even pressure.

• Buff both horizontal and vertical, allowing Synthetic Gloss Compound to flash.

• Buff to a high gloss shine.
